Having journeyed many miles across the continent, I stumbled upon the Boma National Park. This park is a hidden gem of nature's diversity in Congo, home to a unique population of elephants, buffalo, and antelopes that are rarely seen elsewhere. The park's stony ridges and valleys, that curve with the Lualaba River, are home to countless plant.

Boma National Park is the largest protected area in southeastern Sudan. It was established in 1938 as a Game Reserve, with the purpose of protecting wildlife populations during the second world war. The Park received its name from a large number of termite mounds in the park. The term Boma comes from the Dinka language, and it means "a mound."
